New Kent Post-Game Notes

Thank you to everyone who traveled all the way to New Kent yesterday afternoon to support the team and witness the Bulldog’s tremendous performance. In a display of leveraging the hard work in our practices and how that translates to positive results in a game, the team started with total focus from the kick off to the last play of the game. For those that were part of the team last year, you all know how much this game meant to that group of players, families and coaches.

A special thanks goes out to Chase Harris’ and Will Outten’s family who provided the halftime snacks and drinks. Likewise, thank you to Carson and Hayden Oleksy’s, Damien Tavarez’s, Blake Condron’s and Danny Torres’ families for providing a well-earned dinner and drinks upon arrival to Berkeley last night. The support our families provide for each other during and after the game truly embodies ideal of team spirit. We all greatly appreciate the time, effort and monetary support for the entire program, regardless of each week’s outcome! Finally, want to take a moment to thank Mrs. Coleman for setting up and managing this Meal/Snack program and keeping control of our chaotic sidelines as well as Mr. Outten for his filming skills as our team videographer.

Today (Wednesday, the 20th of September) we will review film right after school and will release all players by 5:00 pm for pick up or the opportunity to ride the Activity Bus. Based on the current weather forecast, we plan to practice our normal Thursday and Friday until 6:00 pm.

Again, thank you all for coming out to support us in what was a very challenging game. It was great to see as many if not more of our fans in the stadium yesterday afternoon/evening. One of the hardest things to do is to overcome a loss in the first game of a season when so much work and sacrifice by the players has gone on all summer long. To come out this week and execute in such a focused and near flawless manor shows how much all these players want to perform well and represent each other, the team, the school and their families. As is always the case, it’s now time for our preparations to move on to the next game as we finish enjoying last night’s victory.

We look forward to all of your continued support as we prepare to travel to Queens Lake for our next game, which will start at 4:30 pm (back to our normal kick off time), Tuesday the 26th. As a reminder, there is a $3.00 fee at the gate for all our games. This is collected in order to pay for the officials who are at the games. This was the fee I talked about at the Parent/Guardian’s meeting this summer. You might remember I spoke about how at home games if you volunteer to be on the sideline crew (chain-gang) that fee is waived. More details on the Queens Lake game will follow this weekend as we get closer to kick off.
